The Beautiful Losers had a brief life, much like a butterfly, or a blowfly, depending on your disposition towards this material.

A self-imposed deadline of one member's impending overseas departure pushed the trio into action fairly rapidly from initial vague jamming to full blown recording and three quickfire live performances in the space of 8 months. And then it was all over. The end result was 2 hours or so of recordings, initially bundled into a double CDr set and sold in very minimal quantities.

That original release always felt a little overwhelming and overweight, hence this slimmer variation on offer now. The material is basic simplicity, partly the result of the short timeframe of its conception, but also at times the composition was deliberate in its reductionism - an antithesis of the normal bombast associated with rock trios. After 10 years the end result of this brief experiment is still enlightening.
